“All while I am watching him and praying for him regardless of the space he is in; this illness, it does its own version of ‘watch and prey’. ”

“This is undoubtedly one of the toughest seasons I will go through in this life. “

Q:  Have you ever spoke publicly about the struggle?
A:  Other than just talking among friends, no. I'm not opposed to telling my story, just haven't had an opportunity to speak about it. I needed to hear it years ago it may have helped me and if my words can wake somebody up that would put a small piece of my heart back together.

“Why am I writing this?  It is because I stumbled on the word evil, and it's definition: “

Reflecting back now, I see how important it was for my son to have a healthy man's influence on a regular and consistent basis.

“ The last time we were here he couldn't wait to come back.  I couldn't wait to bring him.  It never occurred to me that the next time I would be here my son would be an addict and that I would be watching the ocean; and, instead of the peace and tranquility it normally brings, I'm realizing it is yet another reminder of all drugs have stole from me.”  

“Now, months have passed, but this hell of the addiction roller coaster has not stopped.”

“In the last year, I had been in a constant state of worry and fear.”
